DEADLIER THAN THE MALE 1967
U.S. film. Excellent quality. 16:9 widescreen. The Walker Brothers sing title song. The title refers to females being deadlier than males. The females in this film are the sizzling eye-candy Elke Sommer and Sylvia Koscina.

Deadlier Than The Male is James Bond-like but not a Bond rip off or a second rate film to cash in on a craze. It has a slick production, solid plot, clever dialog, credible characters and a hip 1960s "secret agent" soundtrack.

Oil executives are dying in peculiar accidents and for each death an anonymous company becomes wealthier by a million pounds. Insurance underwriter Hugh "Bulldog" Drummond (Richard Johnson) is called in to investigate. The film updates a popular 1920s British mystery series for the swinging '60s.

The killers-for-hire (actually they love their job so much they'd probably do it for free!) are the stylish and stunning sadist Irma Eckman (Elke Sommer) and the chic and dazzling nymphomaniac Penelope (Sylvia Koscina). The murders are all exceedingly imaginative (and brutal) and evoke the vibe of the "The Avengers" TV show. One scene depicts the hero facing the villain on a giant chessboard filled with oversize pieces.
