CHA-CHA-CHA BOOM! 1956
U.S. film. Cha-Cha-Cha Boom! has a plot as thin as a 45rpm disc but there's tons of music and dancing. The wild dance footage is similar in style to swing dancing. Bill, a talent scout at Globe Records, is ordered by his boss to sign exciting, new acts for the company or lose his job. Bill decides to quit Globe Records and start his own record company. He flies to Cuba in search of new artists for his soon-to-be label. Upon arrival he holds a press conference to announce that he is looking for a new type of Latin music.

He discovers the exciting dance team of Sylvia Lewis and Dante De Paul who dance to the Mambo beat of Perez Prado and his Cha-Cha-Cha Orchestra. Back in the states, he asks record store owners to invest a thousand dollars each, as equal partners, which enables him to raise the eighty-two thousand dollars needed to launch his record label.

Produced and directed by Sam Katzman and Fred F. Sears; the same team that created "Rock Around the Clock!" They reuse some the same sets and include the tried and true "coast-to-coast television spectacular" as the storyline finale!

Tons of songs including: "Lilly's Lament (To Cell 29)," "Year 'Round Love," "Crazy Crazy," "Cuban Rock and Roll," "Voodoo Suite," "Mambo No.8," "Lonesome Road," "Get Happy," "Save Your Sorrow," "Mi Musica Es Para Ti," "Diosa," "La Nina Popof," "Que Rico El Mambo," and many more!

Perez Prado and His Orchestra, Mary Kaye Trio (Mary plays a nice looking Stratocaster!), The Judd Conlon Group, Luis Arcaraz and His Orchestra, Manny Lopez and His Orchestra, Bernie Lowe and His Orchestra, Helen Grayco, Lucerito Bárcenas, Manny Lopez, Stephen Dunne, Jose Gonzales-Gonzales, Alix Talton, Sylvia Lewis, Charles Evans. Cha-Cha-Cha Boom!

Plus this bonus selection...

TWIST CRAZE 1962
U.S short film. Twist Craze gives you a look at the fabulous twist phenomenon. Tobin Mathews and the All-Stars rock out on some wild surf instrumentals that are perfect for doing the twist! Joe Cavalier dances the most explosive (almost convulsive!) version of the twist ever to bee seen! Joe brings an old 300 lb. broad up on stage for a twist lesson! Yikes! When everybody gets into it even the Chef comes out of the kitchen twisting!
