NOEL HARRISON IS WHERE THE GIRLS ARE 1968
U.S. TV special. Apr-23-68. A dazzling and hip musical variety special hosted by Brit Noel Harrison who played Mark Slate in the TV series Girl From U.N.C.L.E. Groovy images and 60s rock and roll music turn this show into a youth-scene happening! The goings-on include drug influenced camerawork and bikini-clad beauties. Musical guests: The Byrds, the Association, Cher, Barbara McNair, Noel Harrison, Tommy, Jimmy, Marilyn & Mitch, Don Peake's Big Band (Don was a member of the famous "Wrecking Crew"). Comedy guests: Don Adams (Get Smart), Professor Irwin Corey, Rob Reiner.

The Byrds sing the Beatles, "Good Day Sunshine!" Cher is dressed as a black leather-clad biker chick. The Byrds and the Association video segments are very "sixties cool." Cher sings "Sunny" surrounded by pictures of Sonny (Bono). A Maharishi inspired comedy skit about Transcendental Meditation; Mia Farrow is even mentioned! Professor Irwin Corey does a comedy riff on astrology. A segment has Noel Harrison visiting Sunset Strip nightspots including the Haunted House. Flashing lights, op art images, and trippy visual effects.

Songs include: The Byrds (w/Gene Clark): "Hey, Mr. Spaceman," "Good Day Sunshine." The Association: "Windy," "Everything That Touches You." Cher: "Sunny." Cher and Noel Harrison: "Let's Not." Tommy, Jimmy, Marilyn & Mitch (playing electric sitars): "I Dig Rock and Roll Music." Don Peake's Big Band: "Up Up and Away." Barbara McNair: "Don't Rain on My Parade." Noel Harrison: "The Pied Piper," "Flash, Bang, Wallop!" "Where the Girls Are," "Gentle On My Mind," "Hello, Goodbye." Noel Harrison and Don Adams: "Brush Up On Your Shakespeare."
