The Young Lovers
is a coming-of-age story in which the players are realizing that their luxuries of being rebellious free thinkers are rapidly coming to an end. They are being forced to make the hard choice between a conventional/responsible adulthood and continuing their free-spirited existence. Sex, love, college studies, pregnancy, the draft, abortion, and heartbreak are some of the issues facing these youths who are soon-to-be adults.
Cool twist-a-go-go scene at a happening college hangout and a passion pit scene at a local drive–in theater. Also, a campus rock and roll party where all the kids are doing the watusi. At the party there's beatnik and hootenanny types! Nick Adams (he loves his old jalopy!) and Deborah Walley are excellent in their roles! The Young Lovers!
