SATURDAY NIGHT OUT 1964
U.K. film. Merseybeat legends, the Searchers rock out in a small pub. Their look is perfect! Songs include "Saturday Night Out" (B-side of "Needles and Pins") and "When The Saints Go Marching In." The film follows the exploits of five young crewmen and one middle-aged passenger who disembark from a large passenger steamship in a London port determined to make the most (i.e., booze & sex!) of a 15-hour, "Saturday Night" layover.

One lad falls for a kooky, vegan, beatnik, anarchist who brings him to her way-out flat. Two others pick up two beehive bouffant babes looking to make the most of their sex appeal by getting all they want from life: good-times, drink, money and sex! Another visits his "mother;" it seems he has one in every port. Another is picked up by a high-class French woman who turns out to be a prostitute. Cool Piccadilly and seedy West End footage.

The photography of the Searchers' scene is fantastic – terrific camera angles and lighting. The Searchers have the distinction of beating the Beatles to the big screen as "Saturday Night Out" preceded "A Hard Days Night" by several months. Heather Sears, Bernard Lee, Erika Remberg, John Bonney, Colin Campbell, Francesca Annis. Saturday Night Out.
