BEATLES IN FRANCE, ITALY and SPAIN 1965
France: Raw footage from a French TV program features the Beatles performing at the Palais des Sports, Paris 1965. A very energetic show! Some lyrics get re-arranged while the lads laugh! Songs include: "Twist And Shout," "She's A Woman," "I'm A Loser," "Can't Buy Me Love," "Baby's In Black," "I Wanna Be Your Man," "A Hard Day's Night," "Everybody's Trying to Be My Baby," "Rock and Roll Music," "I Feel Fine," "Ticket To Ride." The Beatles leave the stage, fans scream for more, they come back for an encore of, "Long Tall Sally." The boys are playing great and the fans love it! When the lads finally leave the stage pandemonium ensues.

Italy and Spain: Newsreel footage of Beatlemania mayhem. Beautiful color footage of the boys playing in an outdoor venue in Milan. From Genoa, an indoor show that was shot from the balcony and offers some shots of crazed fans. It appears that audio of the show is matched to film shot by fans. From Rome: more raw footage of the band on stage and meeting dignitaries. From Spain: the Beatles arrive at airport to throngs of fans; raw news footage and outdoor coliseum performance footage.

Plus this bonus selection...

"I FEEL FINE" - THE LOST PROMO FILM 1965
The Beatles eat fish & chips while the lighting crew make adjustments for the "I Feel Fine," InterTel promotional film. With their mouths full of food, greasy fingers and lips, the lads chow down lunch while miming the lyrics to "I Feel Fine!" Ringo really stuffs his face!

One look at European Beatles fans will tell you one thing: American fans stink in comparison. The craziness, wild hysterics and the mania in general, at least on this film, seems to be at a much more intense level than of the American shows I've seen. They wave, clap along, dance and scream. And the Beatles play very enthusiastically as well. The show from France is nothing but pure energy, and the shots from Italy and Spain are very entertaining (and, I might add, in stunning quality). For me the highlight of these shows are the fan shots. Watching them flip over the Beatles is nostalgic and fun. (Posted on 3/14/15)
