HI! LONDON - THE TIGERS 1969
JPN. GS film. 1960s Japanese Group Sounds band, the Tigers star in this mod London musical fantasy. The song, "Smile For Me" was written and produced by the Bee Gees (Barry and Maurice Gibb). Barry Gibb makes an appearance in the film. The Tigers were fashioned after the Bee Gees, Beatles, etc. in that they were a rock and roll combo and vocal group with more than one lead singer.

The Tigers are much too busy to have a holiday; but one day a mysterious man appears in their dressing room and offers them a trip to anywhere in the world. But he tells them they must come back in 24 hours or else he'll own their hearts. The mysterious man is the devil.

The Tigers perform on stage and are chased by screaming fans as they board their waiting tour bus. They travel to a rehearsal studio where their producer coaxes a dynamic performance from them. Cool scenes at a Japanese baseball game, amusement park, riding go carts and more! Instrument eye candy: Hofner "Beatle" bass, vintage Telecaster with Bigsby.

In London the Tigers visit Carnaby Street, Piccadilly Circus, Buckingham Palace, hang out with the love generation in Hyde Park and much more. Several songs are sung in English. Songs include: "Lovin' Life," "Rain Falls on the Lonely," "Smile for Me" and many others. [In Japanese. No Subtitles.] Kenji "Julie" Sawada, Minoru "Pea" Hitomi, Osami "Sally" Kishibe, Taro Morimoto, ShirĂ´ Kishibe, Kaori Kumi, Tonpei Hidari, Masao Komatsu, Ema Sugimoto, Makoto Fujita. Hi! London.
