JOHN LENNON'S JUKEBOX
U.K. documentary. In the mid-60s, John Lennon purchased a portable Discomatic jukebox that held forty 45 rpm records. The records in that jukebox are the focus of this documentary that examines John Lennon's musical taste and the influences on the Beatles.

Among the featured songs are Gene Vincent's "Be Bop A Lula," Bobby Parker's "Watch Your Step," Richie Barrett's "Some Other Guy," Bruce Channel's "Hey! Baby," Otis Redding's version of "My Girl," Wilson Pickett's "In the Midnight Hour," Fontella Bass' "Rescue Me," the Lovin' Spoonful's "Daydream/Do You Believe in Magic," and hits by a wealth of other '60s music icons.

In a very interesting segment Bobby Parker plays the intro lick to "Watch Your Step" and speculates that Lennon may have tried to copy the lick—and failed—and instead came up with the intro to "I Feel Fine." Interviews include: Leiber & Stoller, Bobby Parker, Bruce Channel, Delbert McCinton, Gary "U.S." Bonds, Fontella Bass, Donovan, John Sebastian, The Isley Brothers, Steve Cropper, Bobby Parks, Sting. John Lennon's Jukebox!
