THE MONKEES TRUE HOLLYWOOD STORY 1999
U.S. documentary. Rare photos, archival film footage and exclusive interviews document the history of the Monkees. Four boys who were individuals and had separate careers came together to become a phenomenon of the 1960s…and 1980s!

Lots of "inside" details and information including childhood photos, color sound footage and a performance in a small club at a pre-TV show debut promo appearance. Interviews include Micky Dolenz, Davy Jones, Peter Tork, Henry Diltz and many others. Monkees True Hollywood Story!

Plus this bonus selection...

THE FARMER'S DAUGHTER
Jan-7-1966. "Moe Hill and the Mountains." U.S. TV show. Cool rock n roll and music industry satire episode featuring future Monkee, David "Davy" Jones! The kids decide they want to make it as a rock group and ask Katy to be their manager.

They wear Beatle wigs, call themselves "Moe Hill and the Mountains" and record a song called "Gonna Buy Me A Dog" that is very similar to (only rocks a bit harder) a later Monkees song of the same name! Music by Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil.
