THE YOUNG AND THE GUILTY 1958
U.K. film. It's the story of misunderstood teenagers and their delinquent parents. Father is uninvolved in family life and a boozer who spends his time at the pub. Mother feels she married beneath herself and has become a perpetual nag.

Enter young Eddie, a teenaged schoolboy who hangs out at the snack shop (nice pinball machine!) with his teenage pals—and especially with Sue—Eddie has a crush on Sue! In fact, he's infatuated with her!

The teens exchange poetry and love letters until one day the parents find a letter and assume the worst—you know, doing the dirty deed! Now there is pain and heartbreak for everyone involved.

Eventually, one of the fathers sees the light and recommends that Eddie and Sue be allowed to maintain their special friendship. They probably remembered what happened to Romeo and Juliet when their parents interfered!
