The Beatles exploded on to the American scene in February 1964. In September 1965, the Beatles cartoon series debuted on Saturday mornings. The cartoon image of the Beatles captured their "Help!" era look.

As the Beatles' image changed and their songs became deeper and more psychedelic, their cartoon image stayed the same. Seeing the cartoon Beatles play Sgt. Pepper era songs is a little odd but very cool. There were 39 episodes created over three seasons; 1965-67. Reruns continued until 1969.

This title comes on two discs.

BEATLES CARTOONS - Season 1, Ep 1.
Episode titles: A Hard Day's Night; I Want To Hold Your Hand. Sing Alongs: Not A Second Time; Devil In Her Heart. The Beatles visit Transylvania to rehearse in a haunted house. The Beatles drop into the ocean and meet a lovesick octopus.

BEATLES CARTOONS - Season 1, Ep 2.
Episode titles: Do You Want To Know A Secret; If I Fell. Sing Alongs: A Hard Day's Night; I Want To Hold Your Hand. The Beatles travel to Ireland where they meet a leprechaun named Willomena Morris. John is kidnapped by Dr. Dora Florahyde and Igore, because they want John's brain for their monster.

BEATLES CARTOONS - Season 1, Ep 3.
Episode titles: Please Mr. Postman; Devil In Her Heart. Sing Alongs: If I Fell; Do You Want To Know A Secret. Ringo spends all the Beatles' money on rings and the group must wait for Brian Epstein to send more money. Ringo wanders into the woods in Transylvania where a witch wants to marry him.

BEATLES CARTOONS - Season 1, Ep 4.
Episode titles: Not A Second Time; Slow Down. Sing Alongs: Baby's In Black; Misery. The Beatles go to Africa to get away from their fans, but three girls keep finding them. The Beatles travel to a town named after Ringo and meet a donkey that smells gold.

BEATLES CARTOONS - Season 1, Ep 5.
Episode titles: Baby's In Black; Misery. Sing Alongs: I'll Get You; Chains. Paul is kidnapped by Professor Psycho who wants him to marry a half-girl, half-bat. The Beatles go to a wax museum where they're being followed by a vampire.

BEATLES CARTOONS - Season 1, Ep 6.
Episode titles: You've Really Got A Hold On Me; Chains. Sing Alongs: Slow Down; Honey Don't. In Africa, Ringo asks a medicine man to help fix the Beatles' flat tire. Ringo dreams about being Captain Bligh from "Mutiny On The Bounty."

Episode titles: I'll Get You; Honey Don't. Sing Alongs: You've Really Got A Hold On Me; Anytime At All. The Beatles meet Alan Watermain in Africa while escaping from their fans. Ringo is mistaken for a bull rider and is made to ride the meanest bull.

BEATLES CARTOONS - Season 1, Ep 8.
Episode titles: Anytime At All; Twist And Shout. Sing Alongs: I'll Be Back; Little Child. The Beatles imagine themselves as the Three Musketeers. The Beatles attend an art show where they inspire a girl with their music.

BEATLES CARTOONS - Season 1, Ep 9.
Episode titles: Little Child; I'll Be Back. Sing Alongs: Long Tall Sally; Twist and Shout. A little Indian girl proves that girls are good trappers—by trapping the Beatles! The mayor of Texas gives Ringo a golden guitar as a gift.

Episode titles: Long Tall Sally; I'll Cry Instead. Sing Alongs: I'll Follow The Sun; When I Get Home. The Beatles spend a foggy night in a castle. After signing lots of autographs in Japan, George's hand becomes swollen and sufferers from "autographitis."

BEATLES CARTOONS - Season 1, Ep 11.
Episode titles: I'll Follow The Sun; When I Get Home. Sing Alongs: I'll Cry Instead; Everybody's Trying To Be My Baby. The Beatles' car breaks down and a highwayman captures them. In France the Beatles explore Notre Dame where they meet Quasimodo, the local hunchback

BEATLES CARTOONS - Season 1, Ep 12
Episode titles: Everybody's Trying To be My Baby; I Should Have Known Better. Sing Alongs: I'm A Loser; I Wanna Be Your Man. In Japan the Beatles spend a rainy night in a temple. The Beatles are in Rome looking for a rehearsal space. Their only option is the Coliseum.

BEATLES CARTOONS - Season 1, Ep 13.
Episode titles: I'm A Loser; I Wanna Be Your Man. Sing Alongs: No Reply; I'm Happy Just To Dance With You. In Hollywood Ringo is hired as a stuntman and ends up in the hospital. In Rome the Beatles buy a statue of a Goddess which is actually stolen gold coins melted down and sculptured.

BEATLES CARTOONS - Season 1, Ep 14.
Episode titles: Don't Bother Me; No Reply. Sing Alongs: It Won't Be Long; I Should Have Known Better. The Beatles are followed by spies who want their songbook. While in Japan a jewel thief disguises himself as Paul causing double trouble.

BEATLES CARTOONS - Season 1, Ep 15.
Episode titles: I'm Happy Just To Dance With You; Mr. Moonlight. Sing Alongs: Don't Bother Me; Can't Buy Me Love. The Beatles attend a Roman festival where Paul wins a dancing contest. The Beatles meet Professor Ludwig Von Brilliant who tries to view an eclipse.

BEATLES CARTOONS - Season 1, Ep 16.
Episode titles: Can't Buy Me Love; It Won't Be Long. Sing Alongs: Anna; Mr. Moonlight. John has to marry an Indian Chief's daughter. While in Japan, John shrinks small and the other Beatles think he's a doll.

BEATLES CARTOONS - Season 1, Ep 17.
Episode titles: Anna; I Don't Want To Spoil The Party. Sing Alongs: Matchbox; Thank You Girl. In Japan, Paul is lured into a ghost ship. While in New York, Paul, George and Ringo sneak away from John for some fun in Greenwich Village.

Episode titles: Matchbox; Thank You Girl. Sing Alongs: I Don't Want To Spoil The Party; Help! The Beatles meet a group of natives who are running away from a volcano. The Beatles sneak away from their manager to go to a French bakery.

BEATLES CARTOONS - Season 1, Ep 19.
Episode titles: With Love From Me To You; Boys. Sing Alongs: Please Mr. Postman; I Saw Her Standing There. In Hawaii, a surfer challenges George to a surfing competition. The Beatles participate in a Mr. Hollywood contest.

BEATLES CARTOONS - Season 1, Ep 20.
Episode titles: Dizzy Miss Lizzy; I Saw Her Standing There. Sing Alongs: Ticket To Ride; From Me To You. John and Paul secretly enter George into an ice boat race. In Madrid, John and Paul go to a restaurant where John gets a hot foot!

WOW!!! I ordered these from another company who claimed to be "complete" and claimed to have the "best quality" -- they were wrong on both counts! Their set omitted the "stay tuned for this commercial" segments (which I never knew existed until I bought this set) and the quality of their set looked like a blurred VHS recording. This set has the full experience in stunning quality. I love it! If you are interested in the Beatles cartoon series, PLEASE take my advice and buy from the Video Beat, not from others who sell only shoddy, incomplete sets. [From The Video Beat:]
