SYNANON 1965
U.S. film. Excellent quality. 16:9 widescreen. Heroin addition and a hip soundtrack. Junkies, cold turkey, sobriety, back on junk again, really bad withdrawal and music. Lots of very cool music. Shot on location at Synanon House, a real-life drug rehabilitation center in Santa Monica, CA.

Hooked on smack, Zankie Albo is admitted to Synanon House and put in the care of Joaney during his agonizing withdrawal. She, too, is a rehabbing junkie, and any more mistakes could permanently cost her custody of her child.

An attraction develops between Zankie and Joaney, resulting in jealousy from junkie Ben who reports them to the center's officials after catching them in a romantic tryst. A patient who gets high on cough syrup is convinced by Zankie to share it leading to a tragic end.

Zankie, while in a seedy motel room with Joaney, shoots some bad heroin. As he experiences a reaction to the drug, Joaney watches in horror as Zankie ODs and dies.

Manson Family victim Jay Sebring is the film's hairstylist and he appears in a scene as "Jay the Barber." Neil Hefti soundtrack includes the songs: "Zankie," "Main Street," and "Blues For Hopper." Edmond O'Brien, Chuck Connors, Stella Stevens, Alex Cord, Richard Conte, Eartha Kitt, Alejandro Rey, Richard Evans, Gregory Morton, Bernie Hamilton, Jay Sebring.

Plus this bonus selection...
