WHAT'S GOOD FOR THE GOOSE 1969
U.K. film. Spectacular swinging '60s, mod discotheque scenes featuring the group, The Pretty Things on stage performing "Blow Your Mind," "Alexandra," "Never Be Me," and "Eagle's Sun." A good portion of the film takes place in The Screaming Apple discotheque.

Timothy Bartlett (Norman Wisdom) is a married, middle-aged banker who is sent to a seaside resort for a banker's convention. On his way two mod girl hitchhikers (Nikki and Meg) climb into his car where they all share a sandwich—and it's an almost orgasmic experience!

Taking a break from the banker's convention to get some cigarettes, Timothy passes a row of mod scooters parked in front of The Screaming Apple discotheque and he decides to go inside where he sees Nikki and Meg. The disco is packed with groovy, gyrating, mod hippie dancers, psychedelic painted walls, mini-skirts, brightly colored gear, and wild psychedelic fuzz rock and roll by the Electric Banana (The Pretty Things).

Timothy throws caution to the wind and behaves like a stark raving mod party animal; he buys everyone drinks, dances wildly, and takes Nikki back to his hotel and sleeps with her. Back in the banker's meeting room he can't concentrate because he's fantasizing about Nikki. He leaves the meeting to see her. She tempts him to go to a carnival, they end up in the sea skinny-dipping. (Featuring full nudity).

Next, Timothy gets himself the latest, with-it, mod gear and goes back to the discotheque, hair combed forward, and looking like a mod (middle-aged) youth. He sleeps with Nikki again and tells her he loves her. She laughs.

In the end Timothy's is crushed when he finds Nikki in bed with a young mod and he realizes free love means no love, just sex and fun. In an attempt to get his head together he calls his wife Margaret and asks her to come to the resort immediately. When she arrives, he dresses her in youthful mod gear and does all the things he did with Nikki. He tries to teach her how to be a young mod but some things aren't meant to be.

Look for absolutely priceless mod discotheque scenes featuring the Pretty Things. Filming Locations: Southport, Merseyside, England, UK. Norman Wisdom, Sally Geeson (sister of Judy Geeson), Sarah Atkinson, Sally Bazely, Stuart Nichol, Derek Francis, Terence Alexander, Hilary Pritchard. What's Good For The Goose!
