CUCKOO PATROL 1965
U.K. film. Excellent quality. Widescreen. It's British beat group, Freddie and the Dreamers as members of a Boy Scout patrol called the "Cuckoo Patrol." The often-repeated line of the film, "What could possibly go wrong?" is answered again and again as the boys create mayhem wherever they go.

The film is based on a story outline by Freddie and the Dreamers and includes several Freddie and the Dreamers penned songs including: "The Cuckoo Patrol," "It Wasn't Me," and "Seems Like Things Are Turning Out Fine Again."

Cool wrestling (wrassling) scene in which the boys, dressed as "supermen," take on real legendary British wrestlers "Rough House" Harry and Dirty Dominic Pye. The boys come across some cute Girl Scouts and partake in close and comfy campout. A silly scene involves the robbery of safe in a sporting goods store.

The Cuckoo Patrol was a starring vehicle for Freddie and the Dreamers however due to legal issues the film, which was made in 1965, wasn't released until 1967. Those two short years were an eternity in 1960's pop music and Freddie and the boys were past peak at the time of the film's release.

Freddie Garrity, Roy Crewdson, Derek Quinn, Peter Birrell, Bernie Dwyer, Kenneth Connor, Victor Maddern, John Le Mesurier, Arthur Mullard, Ernest Clark, Basil Dignam, Michael Brennan, Neil McCarthy.

YOUTH CLUB 1954

U.K. short film. Amusement halls loaded with pinball machines, blaring trade jazz, and huge clouds of cigarette smoke do not provide a setting for the development of decent contributing members of society. Britain's youth clubs however, keep kids out of trouble and produce fine, upstanding young citizens.

THE DICK VAN DYKE SHOW "The Redcoats Are Coming." Feb-10-65.
U.S. TV show. Famous British long-haired singing sensations, Fred and Ernie (Chad and Jeremy), are scheduled to perform on the Alan Brady show but the city's screaming teenagers threaten the plan. To fool the teenagers, the boys are smuggled to Rob and Laura's house where they will "secretly" stay until the show. Chad and Jeremy perform "No Other Baby" and "My How the Time Goes By."
