THE HARD RIDE 1971
U.S. film. Excellent quality. 16:9 widescreen. When his black buddy Lenny is killed on the battlefield in Vietnam, Marine sergeant Phil Duncan escorts the coffin to Lenny's home in Victorville, California, where the burial is planned.
In Victorville, Phil meets Father Tom, the pastor who took an in interest Lenny. Tom shows Phil a letter from Lenny, bestowing Phil his awesome motorcycle. In the letter he asks that Big Red and his biker gang attend the funeral. The letter mentions that his white girlfriend, Sheryl, might be of help in finding Big Red. Thus begins the story of a hardened Vietnam vet trying to do the right thing for his fallen brother in arms. But as with any biker movie, things get wild and out of hand very quickly. It seems the local bikers aren't too happy about Phil taking ownership of Lenny's cool motorcycle.
Then, there's hot babe Sheryl. The local bikers don't care too much for Phil taking Lenny's girlfriend either! Next comes the drunken violence that you were waiting for. It's always interesting to study the biker chicks in these films; hot-looking women that go for the below par guys.
The ending is a mind-blower! Interesting music on the soundtrack. Bill Medley of the Righteous Brothers, sings, "Swing Low Sweet Chariot." Look for an un-credited Fabian as a cop who pulls Phil and Sheryl over just so he can check out the cycle. Robert Fuller, Sherry Bain, Tony Russel, William Bonner, Biff Elliot, Rachel English. The Hard Ride.
