COP HATER 1958
U.S. film.  Excellent quality. Filmed in beautiful black and white. Terrific NYC location footage, particularly Greenwich Village and West 4th St. A juvenile delinquent teen gang is suspected of being behind a series of recent cop killings. Lots of close-ups of dripping-with-sweat faces. Mix in a boozer cop and reporter, and a sexpot cop wife, and you've got the ingredients for great little B-movie that capture the reality of cops working the hot and sweaty streets of 1958 New York City.

During an extreme summer heat wave in New York City, two cops are murdered and detectives of the 87th Precinct are on the case to find the killer. Steve Carelli (Robert Loggia) and Mike Maguire (Gerald S. O'Loughlin) are lead detectives on the case, but progress is slow and hindered by a reporter, Hank Miller (Gene Miller), who keeps butting in.

The cops try to keep their personal lives separate from their work but when Maguire is shot and killed, Carelli has to comfort his partner's sexpot wife Alice (Shirley Ballard), and then goes on a drinking binge with the reporter, inadvertently revealing his suspicions about the case, and putting his girlfriend Teddy, a deaf-mute author (Ellen Parker), in jeopardy.

Cool juke joint scene where the patrons dance to a rock 'n roll beat laid down by drummer George Lovett. In his second film, Jerry Orbach appears as Joe "Mumzer" Sanchez, the leader of the "Grovers" street gang. Also in his second film, Vincent Gardenia plays Danny Gimp, a stool pigeon. Robert Loggia, Gerald S. O'Loughlin, Vincent Gardenia, Jerry Orbach, Lincoln Kilpatrick, Steve Franken, Frank Dana, Johnny Seven.

Plus this bonus selection...

NO MORE RUMBLES 1958
U.S. TV show. Episode of "The Naked City" feature tons of leather jacket and pompadour teenage delinquent action. After Ramrod of the street gang The Hawks iced Little Pancho of the Flying Dragons, it was decided by the Dragon's war chief Packy to whack Ramrod in revenge. And the man assigned to do the hit is the late Pancho's good friend 16 year-old Marty Nemo. David Winters (who became the dance choreographer for the TV series "Hullabaloo") plays Marty Nemo.
