VISIT TO A SMALL PLANET 1960
U.S. film. Excellent quality. 16:9 widescreen. Jerry Lewis as an alien who travels light years to Earth so he can hang out with real-gone beatniks at the "Hungry Brain" club — featuring cool cats, hip chicks and an outasight combo that includes Buddy Rich, Don Bagley, Frank Socolow and Jack Costanzo.
There's also an Elvis Connection; the film was produced by Hal Wallis, directed by Norman Taurog, it features Joan Blackman and the "downtown scene" looks like the same set used in "Loving You." Song: Desdemona's Lament. Written by Doc Pomus and Mort Shuman. Performed by Barbara Lawson.
Jerry Lewis is Kreton, a childish alien who, against his teacher's will leaves his planet to visit the Earth, and lands in the backyard of a famous television journalist who doesn't believe in U.F.O's and aliens. Wanting to study humans but not able to fully understand them, Kreton makes a mess out of it, generating a lot of comic situations.
Jerry Lewis, Joan Blackman, Ellen Spelding, Earl Holliman, Fred Clark, John Williams, Gale Gordon, Buddy Rich, Edward G. Robinson Jr., Paul Wexler, Joe Turkel.
