CHANGES 1969
U.S. film. A Wild Generation is Out To Make "Changes." It's the late sixties, a time of protest, peace signs, free love, revolution, drugs and searching for a meaning to life.

Kent is a college dropout who goes on a solo road trip in search of his identity and life's purpose and to discover what's "out there." Changes has minimal dialog; the story moves forward as we hear Kent's thoughts and the soundtrack's song lyrics.

He drives from Pebble Beach down the Pacific Coast Highway to LA while he recollects recent events in his life: dropping out of college, leaving behind his establishment-oriented roommate and square parents—and the suicide of his girlfriend after their breakup. Along the way he meets assorted characters, sleeps with different girls, then moves on.

Look for: a lengthy scene featuring Motown soul singer Kim Weston performing in a small club. Kent driving in a figure 8 demolition derby, war protesters, peace marchers, grass-smoking hippies. Nice footage of a late '60s crowded Berkeley campus and Sather Gate, Sather Tower Campanile, Wheeler and Sproul Halls.

Soundtrack includes: Kim Weston: "Changes," "Facing Life." Judy Collins: "Both Sides Now." Tim Buckley: "Wild Wood," "The Prize," "The Father Song," "I'll Be The One," "Morning Glory," "She Is," "Once I Was." Condello: "Expecting to Fly."

Kent Lane (Looks like Jan Michael Vincent), Michele Carey (Elvis film; Live a Little, Love a Little"), Jack Albertson (Chico and The Man), Marcia Strassman (Welcome Back Kotter), Teri Garr (Billed as, "Introducing"), Kenneth Washington (Hogan's Heroes), Clarice Gillis (Get Smart), Kim Weston, Bill Kelly, Gregory Walcott, Buddy Hart, Tom Holland.

Plus this bonus selection...

TOM 1972
U.S. educational short. Tom is an intellectual longhair dropout, hippie who does all the usual hippie things like, smoking weed, dropping acid and hanging out with other hippies. Tom is into self-realization. He likes to make pottery (Most things having to do with pot are cool with Tom!) Warning: you might get a contact high watching this film.
